Little talks tough: The so called leader of the free world announces the most racist, prejudiced and discriminatory policy, and our PM does nothing - Andrew Little

Labour Leader Andrew Little is univocal in what he thinks of US President Donald Trump's executive order of banning refugees and citizens of seven countries from entering the US. He is equally unambiguous of what he thinks of Prime Minister Bill English's reaction to the ban.

“English needs to be loudly defending the humanitarian values of this country and calling Donald Trump out. He should have said that this is unacceptable to the civilised world," Little told his supporters in Christchurch on January 31.

On the question of what he thinks the PM should do, or what he would be doing if he gets elected as the new Prime Minister in September [assuming President Trump carries on with his divisive agenda], he noted, "The PM should be using all diplomatic channels at his disposal to express what New Zealand thinks of President Trump's 'Muslim ban'. That's why a Labour Government will double New Zealand's refugee quota. And right now we should be condemning these actions and offering what help we can to those Donald Trump is slamming the door on."

"That's why I say we got a new PM, but not a leader. He doesn't want to be at Waitangi on our National Day, which is such a spiritual experience. He refuses to meet the Pike River families. He won't defend National in the Mt Albert by-election. And now is silent on this appalling treatment of vulnerable men, women and children by one of our allies. That's not real leadership," said the opposition leader.
