The South West Baptist Church, which in the past has been known by many names including Lincoln Road Baptist, Lyttelton Street Baptist, Spreydon and Halswell Baptist, is celebrating its 150 years of establishment over the weekend of October 14 – 16.

The celebrations will include a street party, with something for all ages – bouncy castles, food vendors, roving entertainers, stalls and live music. Also, there will be special Sunday services, and a cake cutting ceremony.

On site, will be an exhibit showcasing the last 150 years of the church’s history. “It is designed with all ages in mind and has interactive stations and multimedia content. It will be set up in the Spreydon Site Auditorium & will be open throughout the weekend, while our other celebration events are happening, for people to come and browse,” says the Church.
