Engagement: Welcoming migrants in Waimakariri

Under the Council's Migrants and Newcomers Engagement Strategy, some of the planned initiative include - creating groups where migrants with English as their second language can practice their language skills in a social environment; facilitate formal ESOL training to be provided in the district; increase the number of migrant nights from two to four each year; develop a district welcome video; as well as creating a series of migrant's stories about settling-in in Waimakariri.
